Casablanca Marquees was in full swing over the Bank Holiday Weekend, venturing out to London’s Southbank to deliver our marquee, gazebo, and event hire services for two vibrant food and cultural festivals celebrating Spanish and Malaysian heritage.
From Friday to Monday, our dedicated event hire team was on the ground, providing top-tier services to the Streets of Spain Festival at the Southbank Centre, from Friday 1st May to Monday 4th May, and the Malaysia Kitchen Spring Market, located along the River Thames, from Saturday 2nd May to Sunday 3rd May.
As London’s leading event hire company, Casablanca Marquees is well-prepared to manage multiple events simultaneously, a capability we demonstrated throughout the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend.
Streets of Spain Festival
For the Streets of Spain Festival hosted by Campo Viejo from 1st to 4th May, Casablanca Marquees set up our striking red and yellow gazebos at the Southbank Centre. This event, now in its third year, is a vibrant celebration of Spanish culture, attracting over 300,000 visitors with its array of food, drinks, and cultural festivities.
We proudly supplied fifty gazebos, all adorned in the event’s red and yellow theme, along with a wide selection of furniture. Our equipment featured prominently across the festival’s key areas: the Las Ramblas food market, the Plaza Mayor music stage, and Logroño, where Campo Viejo conducted wine masterclasses, including the innovative Soundscape installation, allowing guests to “hear” the flavor profiles of their wines.
Malaysia Kitchen Spring Market
The Malaysia Kitchen Spring Market, held from 2nd to 3rd May between the OXO Tower and Waterloo Bridge, was a celebration of Malaysian culture. The aroma of authentic Malaysian cuisine wafted through the Riverside Walkway as chefs from twelve Malaysian restaurants showcased their skills and heritage with dishes ranging from satay to laksa.
Casablanca Marquees supplied 30 marquees for this two-day event, creating an inviting space for attendees to enjoy the exquisite food and immerse themselves in Malaysian culture, highlighted by performances from singer Bonnie Freechyld and her band.
The event also provided a unique opportunity for attendees to buy authentic Malaysian ingredients from various stalls, enabling them to recreate the festival’s dishes at home with the same authentic flavors.
Our involvement ensured that both festivals offered a comprehensive and immersive experience for all visitors, adding an extra layer of engagement to the celebrations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend working alongside such wonderful people and are eager to contribute our marquees, gazebos, and event furniture to next year’s May Day Bank Holiday festivities.
